Modern construction is not just about energy efficiency and aesthetics; it is primarily about the comfort and health of residents. That is why we have partnered with Skanska Residential Development Poland to introduce a revolutionary solution – the Airchanger decentralized photocatalytic heat recovery unit, which will be implemented in multifamily housing in Poland for the first time.

Groundbreaking technology for residents

Airchanger is a state-of-the-art device that not only provides effective ventilation but also purifies the air from harmful smog components, such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs), nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide, viruses, and bacteria. Thanks to photocatalytic technology, the air entering buildings is clean and fresh, while the system additionally removes excess CO₂ from rooms, improving residents’ well-being and overall comfort.

By recovering heat, Airchanger reduces energy losses, leading to lower heating costs. Its estimated heat exchange efficiency reaches up to 90%, meaning that with an indoor temperature of 20°C and an outdoor temperature of 0°C, the supplied air can reach approximately 18°C. For an average 60 m² apartment, this can result in annual savings of up to 800 PLN.

Pilot implementation in Kraków

The first stage of our collaboration with Skanska involves installing Airchanger in one of Skanska’s apartment sales offices in Kraków. Over several months, the device will be extensively tested by employees, whose feedback will help us fine-tune the technology to better meet user needs. After the testing period, a detailed report will be prepared, optimizing the system for future implementation in multifamily buildings.

Our heat recovery units solve the problem of high CO₂ and VOC concentrations in apartments, providing fresh, clean air without the need to open windows. We are excited to collaborate with such a renowned developer as Skanska and work together to advance the technologies of the future – says Adam Kądziela, CEO of NanoSci.

Skanska’s commitment to innovation

Skanska Residential Development Poland consistently implements modern solutions that enhance the comfort and energy efficiency of its investments. The company aims to achieve net-zero emissions in buildings by 2045 and actively seeks innovative technologies to support this goal. Our collaboration is a step towards more sustainable housing.

We consciously seek out new technologies and remain open to innovative proposals. We believe that through collaboration and synergy with partners like NanoSci, we can drive even more dynamic changes in residential construction while simultaneously growing our businesses – emphasizes Artur Łeszczyński, Business Development Director at Skanska Residential Development Poland.

The future starts now

Together, we are working on integrating Airchanger into multifamily housing. This groundbreaking solution has the potential to permanently change the way we ensure air quality in residential spaces. We already know that the future of construction is not only about sustainability but also about the health and comfort of residents.
